Good Question

Good Question

You may enter this world scattering
like cells across petri dish solution
and look up to see not sky
but the bottom half of a microscope lens, you may meet

the eye who spends its life dissecting you
for strands of DNA, identifying markers, for good traits or bad,
but anyone can call a thing a "thing!

you may flop around in the vitreous
of a type A deity who will never see

who will never ask why existence,
why words, why petri dish,
why bagged carrot seeds, why burning and obliterated
Amazon couched between juice cleanse ads,

why science serves some and not all,
why isolated variables (individualism is a myth),
truly, why placebo?

Why anything is,
or is not?

You may enter this world scattering;
feel free to raise your hand.
